Problem
Four Hands needed high-quality print materials to introduce their brand to first-time customers and potential new clients unfamiliar with their product design and craftsmanship. The goal was to create something that would leave a lasting impression and showcase the brand’s elevated offerings.
Idea
Given that interior designers and retailers tend to appreciate tangible look books, we decided to develop an elegant printed piece that would highlight the brand’s quality through their stunning in-house photography. The look book would be mailed directly to new customers and leads, acting as a physical representation of the brand and encouraging further engagement.
Solution
I completed 7 look books in 3 years time. Starting with mood boards that aligned with the brand’s aesthetic, I worked closely with the in-house photography team to ensure the look book’s visual direction was cohesive. Overseeing the layouts on-site, I collaborated with the production styling manager and photographers to achieve the desired outcome. I also partnered with the lead copywriter to fine-tune the content for each spread, making layout adjustments as needed.
For the final product, a beautifully textured, thick uncoated paper was selected that elevated the tactile experience, all within budget. There were multiple in-person press checks to ensure color and print quality were up to standard. After the success of the first look book, I created a flexible layout system for future editions, incorporating optional promotional inserts. These designs were eventually adapted for the company’s online look book experience, ensuring consistency across print and digital platforms.
